Making and Using Glass Water Pipes

Glassblowing is a technique of transforming molten glass to works of art by blowing air through one end of a blowpipe to inflate the molten glass on the other end. In glassblowing, the primary ingredient is silica which is combined with metal and metal oxides to lower its melting point. Metal oxides are also added to give the glass art the desired color. Cobalt is a popular color because of the deep blue appearance it creates in glass art. Glassblowing can cause burns and cuts, so caution should be observed when handling glass. Protective equipment like goggles and gloves must be used whenever you will be working with glassblowing.
Glassblowing techniques are used to create decorative and functional art pieces. This process can be taken up as either a hobby or as a profession. Examples of art pieces often created using glassblowing are goblets, platters, bowls, vases, glass pipes and beads used in jewelry making. Time and skill are required to come up with such art pieces, thus they can command high prices, especially if they are hand blown. This means that the pieces were done by a professional glass blower, rather than by a machine.
One common type of blown glass art is glass water pipes that are used for smoking tobacco. These are popular because the water held in the bottom pipe creates a smoother, cleaner smoke than other styles of wooden or glass pipe. Some studies even conclude that using water pipes is safer than smoking tobacco cigarettes.
These types of pipes need to be washed regularly to continue working properly. Your glass on glass bubblers can be cleaned in several ways. You can submerge them in a bowl of water in the microwave or soak them in rubbing alcohol. You can also use a steam cleaner. Cleaning your pipe in a microwave must be done very carefully. It will also produce a strong smell, so be sure the building you are in is well ventilated.
Many smokers claim that putting ice in the water enhances the smoking experience. Smoke coming out from the pipes becomes cooler and smoother. Flavored tobacco can also be used with this type of pipe and is available in many flavors. Mint and rose flavors go well together, as well as mango and peach. Cherry and cola, strawberry and banana, double apple and rose, and mint and melon can also be mixed with each other. Juice, wine and alcohol can also be placed together with water inside the hookah or water pipes. If wine is preferred, use white wine when using mint flavors and red wine for heavier flavors like double apple. Vodka can go well with apricot, melon, apple and mint. Use only one or two shots of wine, juice or alcohol.
